Xiaoyue Shan | 单晓月

I am an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Zurich in 2021 and was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

I use a combination of experiments and quasi-experimental methods to study topics related to inequality, discrimination, and skill accumulation. A central theme of my work is to investigate how identity and social status shape beliefs, choices, educational attainment, and labor market outcomes.

Fields: labor/behavioral/development economics, applied microeconomics
